In my opinion Octopath excells in gameplay, freedom of group setups and with the soundtrack. Project Triangle Strategy Reveal Trailer Nintendo. I like both games a lot but for different reasons. Project Triangle Strategy takes Octopath Travelers breathtaking art style and turns it into a turn-based tactical RPG. The stories of the respective characters vary in quality and range from rather silly or uninteresting to good. There is no branching story and no story changing decision to make, also the 8 characters don't interact much with each other, which might seem odd of course, especially to story and dialogue heavy Triangle Strategy. The collaboration between Square Enixs titles will begin.

Or perhaps Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is a more apt comparison I’ll explain why in a bit. For a lot of the early adopters of the Nintendo Switch, Breath of the Wild was the game that sold them on the console. They are very different while still kinda targeting similar niches. Whereas Octopath Traveler‘s battle system is a delicious throwback to older mainline Final Fantasy fare, Project Triangle Strategy, whatever it ends up being called, looks to strategy RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics for its inspiration.
